The objectives of I.D.U. shall include, but not limited to the following:

1. To promote the development of the city of Ile-Ife, the ancestral home of all the Yorubas, in Osun State, Nigeria, and to share its rich cultural heritage with the rest of the world. To strengthen the unity of the Ife descendants in Houston and around the world, and to promote voluntary charitable services amongst Ife descendants and their respective communities.
2. To promote, foster and protect our Cultural heritage through exhibition of Ife Arts, Crafts, and Culture, etc.
3. To encourage mutual interaction and understanding between our Association and Agencies within the Nigerian and other Communities that share similar objectives as our Association.
4. To contribute towards the socio-cultural, economic, education, technological and scientific development of the City of Ile-Ife through Community service and grassroots Empowerment programs and projects.
5. To gather and disseminate pertinent and beneficial information to members.
6. To serve as a vehicle for the promotion of economic development of Ile-Ife by encouraging host and others to engage in mutually beneficial activities.
